When you buy the new Mazda RX-8, you`ll be able to choose from two variations of the RENESIS powertrain: The High Power specification (170kw@8200rpm with a 9000 rpm limit) and the standard power unit (141kw@7000rpm with a 7500 rpm limit). Both offer breathtaking performance with exceptional handling and road holding.
The RENESIS engine is uncommonly compact, which provides an ideal mounting position for the entire powertrain - low and behind the front axle. This low centre of gravity and unique powertrain location means that the Mazda RX-8 has near perfect 50/50 weight distribution - giving it exceptional agility and responsiveness.
